Will my mortgage company escrow my annual front foot benefit assessment?

Some mortgage companies do offer homeowners the option to escrow their front foot benefit assessment, and then pay the front foot benefit utility company directly on your behalf.

Some mortgage companies do offer homeowners the option to escrow their front foot benefit assessment, and then pay the front foot benefit utility company directly on your behalf.

However, typically this does not automatically occur as part of the closing process, and the homeowner must reach out to his or her mortgage broker to determine if this is a service the bank offers to its clients.

When making this request, you should provide a copy of the invoice, the annual assessment amount, the due date, and the term remaining on the assessment.

Please note regardless if the mortgage company agrees to escrow the annual assessment, the homeowner is always responsible for managing their payment obligation. If you receive a delinquent notice from BMS, or you see an outstanding balance on your online account, that likely means BMS has not received your payment, and you should contact your mortgage company to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
